Identifying Older Students with Dyslexia Presented by Connie Fletcher Educational Diagnostician
IDENTIFYING THE OLDER DYSLEXIC STUDENT
Morning session will concentrate on the high school student and beyond. Attendees will be given case studies and will have the opportunity to share their own personal experiences with older students. The importance of characteristics, past and current history of the student, and past and current evaluations of the student will be addressed.
Afternoon session will concentrate on specific tests and/or subtests to administer to the older student to determine rate and fluency, the two most important outcomes of dyslexia for the older student. Specific tests, such as the GORT-4, will be studied.
